For Paragon960x4 32CH DVR, simultaneously play back 32-channel can only be activated remotely (remote playback). The DVR only supports 16-channel playback at one time locally. However, you can switch between 1-16ch and 17-32ch for local playback.
Below are 3 methods which you can use to play back the recordings. Here we will guide you how to play back 32-channel for the first 2 methods respectively.
- Local Playback
- Remote Playback
- EFPlayer for Archived Recording Playback (due to the channel number of an archived recording is limited to 16-channel (either 1-16ch or 17-32ch), 32-channel playback is not supported by EFPlayer)
- Local Playback
To play back 32-channel locally, you have to 1) select the 6×6 layout 2) switch between 1-16ch and 17-32ch. Please follow the steps below:
Playback using front-panel buttons:
1. Press the 32-Layout button to select the 6×6 matrix live view.
2. Before pressing the Play button to start playing back, ensure all channels are highlighted with red
frames. The red frame indicates the channel has been selected. If there is only one channel
highlighted with a red frame, only this channel will be played back after pressing the Play button. To
select all channels (all channels highlighted with red frames), turn the Shuttle Wheel between the first
and the last channels.
3. Press the Play button to start playing back.
After clicking the Play button, the 1-16ch will start playing back. You can see the Playback icon
displayed on 1-16ch.
4. To play back 17-32ch, press the Channel Switch button (1-16, 17-32). You can see the Playback icon
displayed on 17-32ch.
Tip: Press the Channel Switch button can switch between 1-16ch and 17-32ch.
Playback through OSD using a mouse:
1. On the live view window, right-click to bring up the OSD menu.
2. Click Layout and select the 6×6 layout.
3. Before clicking the Playback button to start playing back, ensure all channels are highlighted with red
frames. The red frame indicates the channel has been selected. If there is only one channel highlighted
with a red frame, only this channel will be played back after clicking the Playback button.
To select all channels (all channels highlighted with red frames), scrolling the mouse up / down between
the first and the last channels.
4. On the OSD menu, click Playback, the playback window displays.
Once entering the playback window, only the 1-16ch will be played back. You can see the Playback
icon displayed on 1-16ch. To switch to 17-32ch, click the Play/Pause button on the playback bar to
pause playback 1-16ch first (the Playback icon displayed on 1-16ch will turn to Pause icon), and then
click the Play/Pause button again to start playing back 17-32ch. You can see the Playback icon
displayed on 17-32ch now.
Tip: Click the Play/Pause button twice can switch between 1-16ch and 17-32ch.
Time Search Playback:
Due to Time Search only supports 16-channel layout playback, please follow the steps below to switch between 1-16ch and 17-32ch playback windows. Here we will demonstrate the steps by using a mouse.
1. On the OSD menu, click Search to enter the search page. On the Time Search page, set up the start
date/time.
2. Click the Play button, the 1-16ch playback window displays.
3. To switch to 17-32ch playback window, click the Stop button on the playback bar to stop playing back
1-16ch, right-click to bring up the OSD menu to enter the Time Search page again and click the Play
button. The 17-32ch playback window should now be displayed.
Tip: Click the Stop button on the playback bar and then click the Play button on the Time Search page

- Remote Playback
On the Web UI of the DVR, click the Search button on the top Menu Bar. Click Time Search, set up the start date/time and click the Play button, the playback window displays.
To play back 32-channel, click the 6×6 layout icon on the left-side of the Web UI.
